Russian Ruble

Cost of living in Russia

In Moscow (or Saint Petersburg for that matter – the price levels are about the same) you’ll need monthly: 25k rubles to rent a 1- or 2-room apartment, this price being the lower bracket so expect it to be in mediocre condition and/or far from any kind of infrastructure. You can manage a single room for 10-12k. 4-5k rubles for utility bills and around 3k rubles for transportation if you are using public transport, which is your only option in this situation. The Russian currency is called Ruble.
